Tunesday - Peder Losnegård
This week I’m going to the feature the guy who was part of the reason I started this website/blog – Peder Losnegård (aka Lido).
Back in March, I shared his a mini-remix he did of Kayne’s The Life of Pablo. If you haven’t listened to Life of Peder yet or want to listen to it again because of how good it is, you can do so here.
Peder is a producer/songwriter/one-man show from Norway. He grew up somewhat in the middle of nowhere, listening to gospel music and playing drums and piano. However, he soon became entranced by hip hop then eventually was introduced to EDM through his friend and fellow Norwegian producer, Cashmere Cat – who’s gone on to produce for multiple big name artists, including Ariana Grande, The Weeknd and Selena Gomez/Tory Lanez. Because nobody could really give him any direction on his music or tell him what was ‘right’ or ‘wrong,’ Peder eventually fused all genres together and made songs under the alias Lido after a brief stint as a Norwegian hip hop/R&B artist, LidoLido.
Lido has seen steady success over the past couple of years, ranging from his separate DJ project – Trippy Turtle – to producing Halsey’s debut album (they also used to date) to leading Norway’s KORK orchestra in live renditions of some of his remixes/songs. However, the REAL exciting news is that his first, full-length album – Everything – debuts this Friday! Watch or listen to a few of his songs/performances below:

Separately, Chance performed Blessings (reprise) on Jimmy Fallon last night with Anthony Hamilton, Ty Dolla $ign, Raury and D.R.A.M. It was beautiful and can be watched here.
Fun fact – Lido produced ‘Angels’ and ‘Same Drugs’ on Chance’s Coloring Book, and the two are good buddies.
Lastly, remember when I said Elton John praised Gallant? Well, even if you didn’t, you should check out a video of the two of them performing Gallant’s ‘Weight in Gold’ here.
