Sophomore LOONY EP - JOYRiDE

Back in November 2018, I featured one of my favorite artists, LOONY. After hearing her debut EP, Part I, my response was that it was (and still is) "...nothing short of spectacular." It was a high bar to set, but I think the rising Scarborough singer/songwriter's sophomore EP, JOYRiDE, continues to hit the mark. Her reputation has even led to Elton John playing one of her tracks on his Beats1 Radio show, announcing “I love that LOONY, a new artist to me…we'll be playing her a lot more on Rocket Hour.”

LOONY's follow-up record, like the rest of her releases, highlights just how impressive the singer's abilities are. She's able to effortlessly transition between soft ethereal singing, soul and funk belting, and rapping.
