New brakence EP - 'bhavana'

The elusive singer-songwriter-producer, brakence, has been a favorite of mine lately. I think my homie and coworker said it beautifully when he described his sound as “Bon Iver meets hip hop.” You could also call his music “nerd pop” since that’s the only thing listed on his Spotify page.

His sophomore EP, bhavana, is about the rejection of a judgmental binary and has been on repeat since it dropped. For those like me who are curious what the name of the release means, its derived from the Buddhist concept of contemplation and spiritual cultivation.

The combination of his unique overall sound, relationship with Texas-based label SVNSET WAVES, and quickly growing online following makes me excited to see him grow and evolve as an artist. Keep the songs coming!
