Hi y’all,

To be honest, it’s a pretty great Tunesday. The top three reasons are below.

1. Sampha’s NPR Tiny Desk concert

While I’m a fan of a lot of NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts, Sampha's is truly something special. He performs three songs off ‘Process’ – Plastic 100°C, (No One Knows Me) Like the Piano and a striped down version of Blood on Me. If you decide to watch, which you should, I’d make sure you have some tissues nearby because you’ll likely be wiping away tears by the end of it. His min-performance has me more excited than ever to continue watching him grow as an artist. Sampha is definitely one of the top three acts I’m most excited to see at Coachella this year.

2. FYF Fest 2017 Lineup

The LA-based music and arts festival just released their lineup today. Headliners include, Frank Ocean, Missy Elliot, Björk and Nine Inch Nails. Going just to see Frank Ocean is enough for me, but as an added bonus other great artists such as A Tribe Called Quest, Eryakh Badu, Solange, Ander. Paak, Kehlani and Mura Masa will also be performing.

3. Little Simz Live

Little Simz, who put out one of my favorite albums of 2016, is coming back to Oakland tonight for her second headlining show at the New Parish. I was lucky enough to see her make her Bay Area debut last year, but tonight should be something truly special given how much she’s grown the last 12 months. To get a sense of what she’s like live, check out her live demonstration of Wings.

Keep jammin’
