Tunesday - Tom Misch

Happy Tunesday!

Today I wanted to feature sing-songwriter, guitar player, DJ and producer. The 22-year-old from south London was introduced to the world of music when began taking violin lessons at the age of four. Five years later he moved to guitar and was already working on making his own music at the age 11.

Tom’s sound was initially influenced by artists such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana and John Mayer. When he was 15, his older sister’s boyfriend introduced him to hip hop producers (i.e. J Dilla) and neo-soul singers like Erykah Badu. He fused together sounds from each of his influences to create his own sound at 17.

Last Friday, he released a new EP and today, released a music video for the single, “Crazy Dream."  You can listen to Reverie on Spotify and check-out the new video on YouTube. If you decide you want to hear more, I recommend giving “Wander with Me”,' “Nightgowns” and “Your Love” a listen. Or if you’re like me and have an unhealthy obsession with watching artists perform live, you can watch videos of him jammin’ or performing a live clip of “Crazy Dream.” Speaking of watching him play live, he’s going to make his U.S. debut in SF this November! (I already have my tickets)

Lastly I put together another Sawce Selects which, of course had to feature Tom Misch:

Keep jammin’
